Bar: Bawul, Joseph Lakwoe was born on the 4th of April 1964 in Kwande, Qua’anpan LGA of Plateau State. He had his primary education in Fatimah primary school, Jos (1971-1977). He then attended his secondary school at St Joseph College, Vom (1977-1980) and Government Secondary School, Dengi, (1980-1982). He thereafter went to School of Preliminary studies, Keffi (1982-1985). Barr. Bawul later attended University of Jos for B.A (Hons.), English & Linguistics, and LLB (Hons) Law, (1997-2003). He further went to the Nigerian Law School, Lagos and bagged (BL)-2004-2005. In his quest for further education, he enrolled to read to Masters in Public Administration, (MPA) which he achieved in the year
Barr. Bawul started his work career journey with the compulsory National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) in Benin, then Bendel State from 1990-1991. After that, he was offered appointment with the Plateau State Government as Higher Instructors with the Staff Development Centre, Jos (Bureau for Establishment, Cabinet office 1991-1993). He was later deployed to Housing, Welfare and Labour Relations cabinet office, Jos (1993-1994), Thereafter he was posted to Budget in the ministry of finance, Plateau state Government Secretariat, Jos and the Bureau for Administration, Cabinet Office to handle personnel matters(Appointment, Promotion and Discipline) (1993-1994) and (2000-2003) respectively. From 2004-2009, he worked with various government agencies such as; ministry for urban development, Christian Pilgrims welfare Board, Cabinet and Special Services, office of the Secretary to the Plateau State Government, amongst others. Took up appointment with the National Veterinary Research Institute, Vom, as Chief Administrative officer (2009), promoted to the position of an assistant Director Administration (2013) and currently Director, Administration.
Bar. Bawul, Joseph Lakwoe has various commendations by the Plateau State Government for Efficient Secretariat work at the plateau Peace Conference 2004 and also by the NVRI Governing Board for proper reporting of Board activates in 2011
He is a member of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), 2005 and a Fellow, Institute of corporate Administration, (2013). He has attended well over 12 workshops/seminars at different levels and severed meticulously in several committees both at the State level and in the Institute
Barr. Bawul is married to Mrs. Mary Bawul and the marriage is blessed with a child in the person of En’naan Bawul.
