Personal Statement
Pam Luka is a Veterinary Research Officer with the National Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI), Vom as a Molecular Virologist with interest in transboundary, infectious and zoonotic diseases of animals. A trained veterinarian from the University of Maiduguri and a Master’s degree in Molecular Biology and a PhD all from Makerere University.
He joined the services of the National Veterinary Research Institute in 2005, as a veterinary research officer (VRO) and has been involved in the utilization of various research and diagnostic techniques for the control of animal diseases such as African swine fever (ASF), Peste des petit ruminants (PPR), Infectious bursal disease (IBD), Avian Influenza (AI), Rabies and Salmonella. He was a former Acting Head of Department of Biotechnology and currently the Team Leader, African swine fever diagnosis and control research group.
