The Biotechnology Division was created on the 1st of July, 2011. It has the following mandate:
- Research into all aspects of animal diseases, treatment and control using veterinary medical biotechnology techniques.
- Development of animal vaccines, sera and biologicals using veterinary medical biotechnology techniques
- Diagnosis of animal diseases using veterinary medical biotechnology methodologies
- Development and validation of veterinary medical biotechnology techniques for national use in diagnosis and research.
- Conducting national and international trainings on veterinary medical biotechnology methodologies in diagnosis and research.
