National Veterinary Research Institute Vom puts smiles on faces of pastoralists as she vaccinates about four hundred cattle and poultry free of charge

The extension team of the Institute led by the Assistant Director overseeing the department, Dr. Yakubu Dashe vaccinated over 240 cows against Lumpy Skin Disease and 139 local chickens against Newcastle Disease at Jimpi 1& 2, Tilden Fulani in Bauchi State.

Leader of Jimpi 2, Ardo Muhammad in an interviewed expressed his delight and gratitude to the Institute for its kind gesture in providing them with lumpy skin vaccine and (Newcastle thermostable) vaccines. He further pointed out that the Institute has been helping them for ages and so have received several interventions from the Institute.

According to him, lumpy skin disease has been worrisome to them, but now that the Institute has come up with a vaccine and their animals vaccinated free, he expressed the belief that their worry is over. While   expressing gratitude he prayed that the Almighty Allah will guide and give the Institute more wisdom to forge ahead.

Also speaking, Chairman Miyetti Allah Tilden Fulani,  Adamu Aliyu said the people of  Tilden Fulani are very happy to have received doctors from the National Veterinary Research Institute Vom coming to vaccinate their herds against lumpy skin disease. This shows that the Institute still acknowledges their presence because they were from Vom before relocating to Tilden Fulani. He further stated that the relationship between them and the Institute has been in existence for long as they grew up to see their parents having cordial relationship. He strongly called on his people to come to the Institute to buy the vaccine. The chairman also raised concerns about CBPP vaccine.

The Assistant Director Veterinary Extension Services promised them that all their complains will be forwarded to the Chief Executive of the Institute whom he said is ever ready and wiling to extend a helping hand especially in the area of livestock healthcare delivery services. Also he told them to always channel whatever problems they may have concerning their livestock through Alhaji Abdullahi Ardo, staff of the Veterinary Extension Services department.
