NVRI, FCVMLT RENEW COMMITMENT TO A STRONG PARENT-CHILD INSTITUTIONAL BOND

The Provost of the Federal College of Veterinary and Medical Laboratory Technology (FCVMLT), Dr. Chukwu O. O. Chukwu, led his management team on a courtesy visit today, Thursday, 27, August, 2026 to the National Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI), Vom, the parent Institution of the college.

Dr. Chukwu, was received by Dr Dashe G. Yakubu, the Director/ Chief Executive of NVRI and members of the Institute’s Internal Management Committee (IMC) at the Institute’s Boardroom. He congratulated Dr. Dashe on his appointment as Chief Executive and expressed the College’s readiness to support his administration, assuring him of the commitment of the College’s management, staff and students.

He highlighted areas of potential collaboration, including academic engagement for medical laboratory students and the involvement of relevant NVRI professionals as lecturers and resource persons. He also pledged the College’s willingness to work with the Institute in areas that advance their shared institutional interests.

Responding, Dr. Dashe Yakubu appreciated the visit and described the relationship between NVRI and the College as longstanding and cordial. He assured the Provost of NVRI’s continued support, particularly in areas that would contribute to the effective fulfilment of the College’s mandate.

The Chief Executive also commended the College for expanding its academic curriculum through the introduction of new courses, describing the development as a positive step. He appreciated the provost for his encouragement and support and expressed confidence that the partnership would continue to yield meaningful benefits for both institutions in academic development, knowledge sharing and other areas of mutual interest.
